Woke up to Chingy trending on Twitter only to see that his old beef, if that’s what you want to call it from like 20 years ago with Nelly was going viral. I was like what is this 2003? But even still I’ll take it. St. Louis has a ton of rappers, but very few of them have buzz. Real buzz, you know hype? Meaning media/people talking about them. And this is 20 years after the fact, which says a lot.
The beef wasn’t really beef, St. Louis is too small for mofos to be beefing. Got beef, trust you’re gonna run into whoever you got smoke for. And it ends in gunsmoke something older rappers figured out and they didn’t want that. Cats were more concerned with getting on than getting shot.
St. Louis is one of the most violent and dangerous cities in the world. People that aren’t from here, hear ‘St. Louis” and think it’s all the same. But those of us here know U City where Nelly & St. Lunatics are from ain’t Murderville where Chingy is from. If they had real beef, it wouldn’t have been limited to tracks.
