Why Black America Celebrated The “Montgomery Brawl”

The whole world saw the video that would eventually be called “the Montgomery Brawl.”

Black people cheered from coast-to-coast. Black Twitter did what Black Twitter does and as we all know, The Internet NEVER loses.

But while many of us laughed at the memes, some cried tears of joy (literally) at the sight of finally seeing US fight back. In a special episode of #TRRS, we speak to veteran Final Call Newspaper staff writer Nisa Islam Muhammad and Student Minister Shakir Muhammad of Muhammad Mosque #101 in Montgomery, AL to unravel the emotion Black people felt….and where we go from here with it.
