#UPDATE The platforms are live and building them was first step. The second is reestablishing relationships and connections outside of St. Louis and getting back to promoting stlhiphop nationally and internationally where this scene needs it most. The scene is virtually nonexistent outside of our borders. When I’m not here, I’m working on the bigger picture. stlhiphop exists outside social media.
Nobody outside is checking for who’s hot or who got next from the Lou. That’s why cats keep having to run to other cities for opportunities. Ummm, welcome to 2023, if you build and support your own scene, cats would come HERE. If you built and supported your own scene, industry would come her. A bunch of random assed social media pages and youtube channels ain’t gonna cut it. And even if it did, everybody got that, none of it is unique to St. Louis or makes St. Louis stand out.
St. Louis has a coupla things in it’s favor1. Nelly went diamond and Sexyy Red is the most talked about rapper in the game. 2. St. Louis has talent. In every aspect of the game. On the talent side and the industry side. And 3. The game is digital, mobile, social… tech. And I was one of the ones that birth this shit. It took the industry 20 years to catch up to where I was 20 years ago.
I preface with all this to say I ain’t doing all this just so mofos can have a new place to post. I’m not interested in the hottest or dopest anything because if you lack vision, the talent is a waste.
