In the late 1990s, T3, J Dilla, and Baatin made a Slum Village demo tape first album that launched a movement that reached Q-Tip, Questlove, D’Angelo, and others. In a clip from Slum Village’s interview with Questlove Supreme, T3 shares some lesser-known history about those Fantastic Vol. 1 songs. He reveals how the group was dissing each other with lyrics, dissing other crews, and dissing some 1990s R&B stars in passing. T3 also reveals how Q-Tip shocked the world with his featured verse on “Hold Tight” from the group’s follow-up, Fantastic Vol. 2.
