As we approach Hip-Hop’s 50th anniversary, you will hear a lot of what people refer to as “the elements”. The elements of nature are earth, wind, fire and water. Depending on who you ask, Hip-Hop also has four “elements”: deejaying, emceeing (rapping), b-boying (dancing) and graffiti writing (visual art).
Although those four are the most famous, others would argue that there is a fifth element that is not as celebrated but is as foundational as the other four: the art of the human beat box. Kenny Muhammad, a world-renowned human beat box artist will join us to set the record straight.
